The next JCARS meeting will be at the Jackson County Recreation Center at 0900. This is a last minute change due to conflict meetings for the EOC Manager.
June Meeting
The JCARS June meeting will be on June 18th at the Jackson County Recreation Center at 0900. Any ham or anyone interested in becoming a ham radio operator is welcome. Our program will be “DMR”. If you have any questions on DMR this will be your opportunity to ask the expert.
April 23rd – Green Up The Mountains
JCARS will have a booth set up along the railroad tracks at location D6 for this event in Sylva. We will be between the Farmers Market and the church. Stop by and check us out or just to say “hello”.
Next meeting will be on May 14, 2016.
Upcoming Meetings April/May
JCARS next scheduled meeting is on April 16th at the Jackson County Recreation Center. Meeting starts at 0900 and our program will be “Go Boxes and Power Backup” presented by David Bennett – KK4HFR. Our Green Up the Mountains booth will be finalized during this meeting.
Our meeting in May will be on the 2nd Saturday, May 14th, due to scheduling conflicts at the Recreation Center.

March 19th Program Information
Our program for March 19th with feature Al Sanders giving a presentation on ham radio antennas. His program will start off with 2 meters and 70 CM’s and proceed into HF antennas, questions and time permitting. There will be valuable information for all levels of operators. Important meeting change notice (March 19, 2016)
Due to conflicts on the 1st Saturdays of each month, JCARS will be meeting on the 3rd Saturday starting in March. That will be March 19, 2016. Our next meeting will be held on 02/06/2016 at the Jackson County Recreation Center in Cullowhee at 0900 with a program at 1000. Testing Scheduled for October 17th, 10:00 am
Anyone interested in testing for their Technical or up grading to General or Extra, there will be VEC’s at the Jackson Country Recreation Center from 10:00 am until noon. Testing cost is $10. Good Luck!!
