March Meeting 03/18/2017

The JCARS March meeting will be held on 03/18/2017 at the Jackson County Recreation Center in Cullowhee. Our program will be on antennas present by Dale W4OP. You do not need to be a member of JCARS to attend.

Program for February 11th meeting

Our program for the Feb. 11th meeting will be how to establish and operate a ham band mesh node wireless network. From what I have seen this should be a very informative program.  You do not need to be a member to attend.

January 21, 2017 Meeting

The JCARS January 21st meeting will be held at the Jackson County Recreation Center at 0900. Our program will be repeater operation and functions, presented by Al Sanders, WD4A. You do not need to be a member of JCARS to attend.

Net call changes

JCARS has changed our Tuesday and Thursday night net calls to 7:00 PM. Tuesday nights tech net is now on simplex 146.580 until our 70 cm repeater is back in action. Thursday nights net remains on 147.345 with a PL tone of 151.4. You do not need to be a member of JCARS to participate on these nets.

December 17th meeting

Our December meeting will be this coming Saturday, 12/17/2016 at 0900 at the Jackson County Recreation Center. Our program will be how to make proper connectors on coax cable presented by Dale Parfitt W4OP. Anyone interested in ham radio is invited to attend.

November 19 meeting

JCARS will be meeting at 0900 on November 19 at the Jackson County Recreation Center. Our program will be a follow up by Dr. Gomez on the 2017 solar eclipse. This is looking like it will be a major event in our area. Looking forward to seeing you there.

October 15th Meeting

Our October 15th meeting will be held at the Jackson County Rec. Center at 0900 but in a different room. Go to the end of the hall, past where we normally meet. Program this month will be “Moon Bounce” and should be very informative.

August 20th meeting

Our program for the August 20th meeting will be a presentation on the Solar Eclipse Balloon Launch by Professor Enrique Gomez, Professor of Physics at WNC. Telemetry information received from the balloon will be used to determine the effects of the 2017 Solar Eclipse on the earth.

Our meeting will be at the Jackson County Recreation Center and will start at 0900 and the program will start as soon as we complete our monthly business.
