Jackson County Amateur Radio Service (JCARS)

Our April 21st meeting will be held at Ryan’s, next to Walmart in Sylva. Meeting starts at 0900. Come early and join us for breakfast.

The program for our March 17th meeting will be MESH networks presented by David KK4HFR.

The February meeting for JCARS will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17th, at 0900, at the Jackson County Recreation Center in Cullowhee. Our Program will be how to apply for, setup, log and report for the upcoming Summer Field Day on Saturday June 23rd.

Our program for December will the installation of Anderson Power Pole, 12 volt DC, power connectors for power hookup standardization for club members. This is the ARES power standard connector.

Our last meeting of the year will be held on 12/16/2017. This is election night for 2018 officers. Location is the Jackson County Recreation Center at 0900. You do not need to be a licensed ham to attend.

Due to the traffic problems being caused by “Move In” weekend at WCU and the influx of eclipse viewers, our August 19th meeting has been cancelled.

Due to scheduling conflicts, our June meeting will be held at 0900 in the back dinning room at Ryan’s in Sylva. Looking forward to seeing you there.

JCARS will meet on 5/20/2017 at the Jackson County Recreation Center. The program will be on contesting.

The JCARS Monthly meeting will be at 0900 on the 15th of April. On Saturday the 22nd, we will be at booth “A7” in Sylva, for Green Up the Mountains. Stop by and visit if you are interested in HAM radio.

Hello all interested parties. Testing for all three levels (Technical, General and Extra) of ham radio licenses will take place this coming Saturday, March 4th, at noon, at the Jackson County Rescue Squad building in Sylva, on Webster Road.
